My client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant with proven medication administration experience to support the delivery of high-quality care. You will work with other their healthcare professionals while supervising junior staff and ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and person-centred care.

This position is full time and will be 36 hours on Thursday, Friday and Sunday night (Full time 36 hours)

This is a permanent position with full benefits with an outstanding home with one of the best reputations in Torbay.


Job description:

  • Provide high standards of personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
  • Safely administer medication in line with policies and training
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Support patients with daily living activities and promote independence
  • Supervise and mentor junior healthcare assistants
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Assist with care planning and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety policies

Person specifications:

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant (essential)
  • Proven experience in medication administration (essential)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred)
  • Good understanding of care standards and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and support a team
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and reliable

Experience

  • Experience working in hospitals, care homes, or community settings
  • Knowledge of dementia care or complex care needs
  • Training in moving and handling

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physically active role requiring standing, walking, and assisting patients
