My client are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Finance Manager to lead the firm's financial operations, reporting, planning, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, managing financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across finance functions.
This role is based in an Accountancy practice.
Role responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely management reporting for partners and senior leadership.
- Monitor cash flow, profitability, and financial performance indicators.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Partner with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and operational initiatives.
- Identify risks and opportunities affecting firm profitability.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and business expansion projects where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage external audits and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Manage workload allocation and performance reviews.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with partners and department heads across the firm.
- Provide financial insights to partners and senior stakeholders.
- Support client-facing teams on complex financial matters when required.
- Build strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and professional advisors.
Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading finance teams and managing budgets.
