BIG ANT Recruitment is working exclusively on behalf of a well-established and highly respected business in the technology distribution sector to recruit an experienced Marketing Manager for a fixed-term maternity cover position, expected to last approximately 10 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded marketing professional who enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery. The successful candidate will take ownership of an established marketing function, lead a small team, and drive activity that directly supports sales growth, supplier commitments, and brand performance.
We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable developing the bigger picture as they are rolling up their sleeves to deliver campaigns, analyse performance, and keep multiple moving parts aligned.
This is a full time role, based in the offices in Plympton. After 6 months, the role could be hybrid.
The role
This is a broad and varied marketing management role with responsibility across campaign delivery, digital marketing, supplier relationships, category performance, brand development, and team leadership.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the in-house Graphic Designer, including workload management, direction, and day-to-day support
- Managing the overall operation of the marketing function, ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time
- Creating and delivering strategic marketing plans aligned to wider commercial objectives and manufacturer agreements
- Planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns across email, website, social media, and broader digital channels
- Managing regular email communications, newsletters, promotions, and campaign activity
- Monitoring campaign performance, analysing results, and producing actionable insight to improve future activity
- Preparing marketing performance reporting for senior leadership
- Managing marketing budgets, including manufacturer development funding (MDF), ensuring available investment is fully utilised effectively
- Maintaining supplier marketing commitments and ensuring activity aligns with contractual expectations
- Overseeing website content, promotions, banners, and ongoing digital updates
- Managing brand messaging, marketing communications, and social content
- Coordinating exhibitions, events, launches, and promotional activity
- Supporting category growth through product performance analysis, identifying commercial opportunities and underperforming areas
- Leading new product launches from planning through to execution across multiple channels
About you
This role will suit an experienced marketing professional who combines creativity with commercial discipline.
You'll likely bring:
- Previous experience in a Marketing Manager or senior marketing role
- Strong digital marketing and campaign management experience
- Excellent written communication and copywriting capability
- Experience managing email marketing, CRM communications, and campaign delivery
- Confidence using performance data to inform decisions and shape strategy
- Social media management experience with a commercial mindset
- Experience overseeing website content and digital brand presence
- Budget management experience
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Confidence working with suppliers, stakeholders, and senior management
- Previous line management or team leadership experience
Experience within product-led, distribution, technology, manufacturing, or supplier-led environments would be advantageous, though not essential.
