The post holder will be responsible for generating and developing sales opportunities for the business. The role will include selling a broad, and ever evolving, product portfolio incorporating partnerships, sponsorships and advertising with a primary focus on new business generation. Sales will be made primarily on a B2B basis.
Key Duties -
Target 100% occupancy across the club commercial portfolio, including, but not exclusively, Industry Partnerships, Ground Board Advertising, Player Sponsorship,
Digital Advertising & Sponsorship and Matchday Sponsorship opportunities.
Support the Head of Department in the identification, research and acquisition of Principle Partners.
Identify and manage new revenue opportunities for the business, from concept through to delivery.
Maintain pre-determined profit margins as defined in the annual budgeting process.
Look to maximise profitable opportunities wherever possible to further improve the financial position of the business.
Work with the Head of Department to ensure that our sales targets are benchmarked appropriately as part of our budgeting process, targeting continued growth where possible across all areas of inventory and best in class value.
Research organisations and individuals to identify new prospects (and potentially new markets) for the business.
Identify clear areas of opportunity by using existing and new data sources and work with the Head of Department and, where relevant, the CEO to ascertain the correct approach to attract these brands to the business.
Research target brands to ensure that our suggested packages are relevant and will assist in brands achieving their strategic goals over the lifecycle of any potential partnership.
Develop and maintain an accurate client database via the club's CRM system, ensuring that this is updated on a regular basis.
Contact clients (both existing and prospective) on a regular basis to establish rapport and coordinate meetings.
In conjunction with the Community Trust and Club Ambassador use matchdays to engage with prospective partners and further develop their involvement with the business.
Work with internal Marketing & Communications team to create, maintain and update relevant sales presentation collateral.
•Maintain positive relationships with existing customers.
Work with a broad suite of internal stakeholders to create innovative new ideas to further the revenue opportunity for the business.
Utilise the matchday operation to identify new opportunities for the business.
Maintain proactive relationships with sales agencies, and utilise these as appropriate to secure new revenue sources from clearly identified sectors and/or opportunities.
Identify appropriate agencies for the business to work with to support the achievement of our strategic goals and work with them collaboratively to ensure that any partners onboarded via agency are managed with Club Values in mind.
Ensure sales targets are met through a proactive sales strategy (utilising all possible routes to market, such as virtual, telephone, email and face to face meetings) making use of the club's CRM system and existing client databases.
Utilise opportunities afforded by the Community Trust & Academy to create new commercial revenue streams for the business,
Utilise internal stakeholders to provide genuine added value to our commercial offering.
Attend relevant networking events to build relationships and create new leads accross the South West peninsular and beyond in line with the club's strategy.
Develop and maintain good relationships across the sports industry.
Ensure that all contractual obligations are fully met with both Club and EFL Sponsors.
Assist with the hosting of sponsors and partners on match-days.
Work with the wider team to ensure that all Club events are delivered in a professional manner.
Ensure that any new sales opportunities are not detrimental to other areas of the business.
Maintain complete knowledge of wider club sales portfolio to maximise sales opportunities and benefits to client's needs.
Record relevant information resulting from calls made to prospects/customers by updating relevant system tools and databases.
In tandem with fellow members of the Commercial Operations team, strive to ensure that the Commercial Operations budget is achieved for the season and, where possible, exceeded.
Provide weekly reports to the Head of Commercial Operations regarding both sales and customer engagement.
Any other duties as required and appropriate to the level of skill and accountability as set, within reason, by the Club.
Telemarketing or Field Based Sales
Proven track record of generating sales revenue in a competitive environment.
Track record of renewing business sales.
Experience of managing clients and their expectations
