My client are seeking a Purchasing and Technical administrator for a 6 month contract based on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.
The successful candidate will have experience in a Purchasing and Technical Administrator provides administrative support for purchasing and technical operations.
The role involves managing supplier communications, processing purchase orders, maintaining technical documentation, tracking inventory and deliveries, and ensuring accurate records are maintained to support business operations.
Due to where the organisation is located you must have transport as there are no public transport routes.
Job Responsibilities:
· Raise and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Track orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
- Maintain supplier databases and procurement records.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
- Monitor stock levels and support inventory management activities.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and finance teams.
Technical Administration Duties
- Maintain technical files, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Control document revisions and ensure records are up to date.
- Assist engineers and technical staff with administrative support.
- Coordinate technical documentation for projects and audits.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with quality management and regulatory requirements.
- Manage equipment records, maintenance schedules, and asset registers where applicable.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, administration, or technical support.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience using ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of technical documentation control processes.
- Understanding of supply chain and procurement principles.
