My client is currently seeking an experienced IT Technician for their South West based company.
The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end-users for external clients. This role assists in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, escalating more complex problems to senior IT staff.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organised, and able to communicate technical information in a user-friendly manner to clients.
Client relationships are a key to this organisations success
This role will involve travel to the Greater London area a few days a month, and weekly travel around the South West so a driving license and vechicle will be required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to user support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system in a timely manner.
- Log and track all service desk interactions and issues using the helpdesk system.
- Provide technical assistance and support for issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices).
- Perform password resets, account unlocks, and basic Active Directory tasks.
- Help maintain an inventory of IT assets and equipment.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate IT team members or external vendors.
- Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues.
- Maintain documentation and knowledge base articles for common problems and solutions.
- Support onboarding/offboarding tasks such as setting up new user accounts, configuring workstations, and retrieving equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
- Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently within a small team of technicians.
- Customer-focused attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
