Our Plympton based client is recruiting for a Credit Controller to work with-in their Finance Team. Someone with experience would be preferred but if the candidate is confident to deal with the tasks in hand and is willing to learn, this will be considered.
The position is ideally a full time role, however reduced hours would be considered for the right candidate, although the client does require the successful candidate to work five days a week and cover the core hours of the day.
The role will involve working within the service support team, the primary focus of this position will be to maintain the current high standards of credit control activity, working efficiently and effectively to ensure payments are secured within agreed terms and any customer queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
Credit Control - duties and responsibilities;
Chasing debts by telephone, email and letter as required
To ensure payments are secured within agreed terms and any customer queries are resolved promptly and professionally
Maintaining customer relations and keep customer retention high
Providing administrative support to the finance team
Checking whether customers can receive their course certificates - if their account is up to date
Following up customer payments as needed
Producing copy invoices and statements
Monthly review of aged debt with Finance Lead
Sales Ledger - duties and responsibilities;
To generate invoices on Sage, including establishing payment terms and other applicable conditions
To process booking transfers and cancellations, generating credit notes if required
Transfer received purchase order numbers onto booking system for future invoicing.
Support Activities;
Work with the service support team to facilitate training course requirements for refreshments, lunches, clearing and setup
General office support activities
Skills and Attributes;
Excellent numerical and analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
Fluency in MS Office - Word / Excel / Outlook / SharePoint / Teams / Planner
Experience of using computerised accounting system ideally, but not essentially, Sage 50 Cloud Accounts
Aptitude and ability with other software systems and database management
Excellent prioritisation skills to ensure all finance deadlines are met
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations/clients
Ability to support and inspire Services Support team members
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships and communication channels with members of other teams
