Role title: account manager (office-based, hybrid after six months)
Role purpose
This role is focused on supporting and developing existing customer relationships to drive sustainable business growth. You will deliver a consultative service, leveraging product knowledge to meet client needs, while supporting day-to-day inbound activity and collaborating with external account managers to generate additional revenue opportunities.This is working with existing customers, no cold calling will be required.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and progress inbound customer enquiries, guiding opportunities through the full sales cycle
- Develop and support existing customer initiatives to maximise account performance
- Provide a consultative approach, demonstrating a strong understanding of product features and solutions
- Support external account managers in identifying and securing incremental business opportunities
- Ensure all customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently within internal systems
- Represent the business at industry events and conferences when required
Skills and experience
- Proven experience within a B2B commercial or sales environment
- Strong relationship-building capability with a customer-centric mindset
- Demonstrable experience working towards and achieving targets
- Highly self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Excellent communication skills, particularly over the telephone
- Good working knowledge of sales processes and commercial operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Remuneration and benefits
- Basic salary: £28,000 – £30,000
- Nest pension scheme
- 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Christmas closure (not deducted from annual leave)
- Holiday entitlement increasing to 25 days after five years’ service
- Hybrid working after 6 months to suit the successful person.
